Testimonials

  • I participated in one of DJ’s Emotional Intelligence sessions, and I immediately felt his intentional design of the session to make everyone feel comfortable. DJ created a space where all comments were heard, valued, and explored – without judgment. His openness and encouragement to participate made for a very engaging conversation and learning environment.

    — Christine Lookner (Bentley Community Learning Conference Attendee)

  • I really appreciated his presentation at the MEMS Conference on reframing orientation and welcome programs. His approach to creating tangible assessment measures that are both descriptive and clearly defined stood out to me, especially in the way he framed concepts like belonging, feeling connected, supported, and valued within the student experience. The session encouraged me to think more intentionally about how we design programs and survey tools that truly capture student perception in meaningful and measurable ways.

    —Ashley Mayor (UPCEA MEMS Attendee)

  • I had the pleasure of working with DJ at a national leadership convention, where speakers across the country were invited to address the intersection of professional and cultural identity. DJ served as a moderator on one of the panels about the impact of multi-ethnic identities on personal and professional development. He used a clear and empathic facilitation style, which displayed his emotional intelligence, especially when working with a potentially sensitive topic. I’m looking forward to seeing his future speaking engagements as well!

    — Stephanie Chen (NAAAP Leadership Convention Attendee)

  • Working with DJ helped me feel comfortable enough to use my identity to motivate others. He has shaped me into a great leader and mentor. He has shown me the dangers of being bias as a leader, which has allowed me to strive to be a stronger/unbiased leader.

    — Kenan Fong (Workshop Attendee)

  • DJ has had a meaningful impact on both my personal and professional growth. His ability to lead a conversation, mentor others, and create an inclusive environment not only leads others towards him but also helps make people feel comfortable and empowered. He communicates with empathy and authenticity, while also challenging others to think critically and strive for growth. I truly value the support and guidance he has provided, and I would not be where I am today without him.
